I’m biased. Let’s get that out of the way.
Without mentorship from Nicki Krawczyk, I wouldn’t have a copywriting career and be writing this.
But I’m not alone in saying that.
Since joining Filthy Rich Writer team as the Head Copy Coach in 2019, I’ve seen first-hand how many lives are impacted by the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy (CCA). One scroll through the testimonials page and you’ll see what I mean.

So, how do you know Nicki Krawczyk?
I met Nicki more than a decade ago, when I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. We both worked for the same company, but I was on the editorial team while Nicki was on the marketing team. (As CCA members will tell you–and any marketer worth their salt–copy and content are not the same thing!)
I call the crash-course in copywriting that Nicki gave me the “beta” version of the CCA. Every week, we’d get in a room and Nicki would teach me a new copy concept (all of which are in the CCA–and then some!).
But it’s not only the material that makes the CCA so valuable, it’s Nicki’s mentorship. Just as she felt genuine joy for me as my career took off, she, myself, and our team of copy coaches feel that same enthusiasm for each and every CCA member win–whether that’s sending a first pitch, or landing a $10,000 project (yup, someone recently did that!).
So, when I see questions “Is Filthy Rich Writer legit?” or “Is Filthy Rich Writer a scam?” I 100% get the skepticism, but I also wish I had an extra set of hands so I could type, “Yes!!” to each and every one.
Not only are we humans (easy to forget online!), it’s our goal to make each CCA member feel supported and get the help they need to overcome challenges and cheer them on when they succeed.
Here are a few more answers to some of the most common questions I’m asked.
Is copywriting a good career?
I certainly believe so (or else I wouldn’t be doing it!), but the key is to define what makes a great career for you. Is it hitting a certain financial goal? Having more time to spend with family by working remote? Bringing in a great income working part-time hours? Having a career that allows you to write? Working in an office alongside brilliant people and having happy hours each Friday?
Write out what would make a good career for you.
The great thing about a copywriting career is it can take many different shapes. You can work full time (don’t discount the office life – I’ve worked in many offices with regular happy hours and company outings). Or you can work remote from Europe (I did it for 4 years — it’s verrrry possible). You can even work 5 or 10 hours a week just to bump up your income!
Is there money in copywriting?
Yes. As someone who is making well into six figures each year from copywriting, I know first-hand there is money in copywriting. But I’m also not alone (check out this interview with another 6-figure copywriter and CCA member!). Former colleagues are also making great money as copywriters, both on staff and freelance. There is nothing special about us beyond the fact that we pursued training and took action.
But to us, being “filthy rich” doesn’t necessarily mean making six figures (for more on what it does mean to our team, click here). It can! But some people have different goals. They love being able to work flexible hours. They want to bring in a solid $75k-80k income while having plenty of time to spend with family or on other projects. Or they want copywriting to fund their nomadic lifestyle. The list goes on.
Are copywriting courses worth it?
Obviously what is “worth” it depends on you. If you’re talking strictly finances, there are obviously different types of courses offering different content at different price points. What makes Filthy Rich Writer’s Comprehensive Copywriting Academy different is our team’s experience. The CCA is built on Nicki’s 20+ years, and now my 10+ years, of copywriting experience. We’ve both worked as freelancers, as contractors, and as full-time staff members across industries for Fortune 500 companies, startups, and everything in between.
You also get lifetime access to the course and a suuuuuper supportive (and super friendly!) group of copywriters who help keep you accountable and offer invaluable feedback. Beyond myself and Nicki offering feedback, our team of coaches also provides guidance on so much more than copy, including productivity, mindset, marketing, and general business questions.
The better question is “are copywriting courses” necessary? If you don’t have any training, then a copywriting course is definitely worth it. Step 1 to building a copywriting career is building your skills and expertise. (After all, you wouldn’t want a pilot flying your plane who just says she’s a pilot, but hasn’t had any training.)
